What do real estate agents need to learn today?

Professional ethics is something that all real estate brokers need to put first, aiming for professionalism and sustainability for the real estate brokerage profession. In addition to professional ethics, a successful broker must also cultivate other virtues and knowledge. What are they, let's find out with AHS. 

Qualities of a real estate agent

Fire of passion

Passion is very important for a real estate agent. You must have a passion for serving people by showing them the best returns within their budget. You will never see a successful real estate agent who is haggard, frustrated or bored with their job. 

Good realtors are passionate about what they do. They are in business to help their clients make profitable real estate investments, as well as build successful real estate careers of their own.

Ensure professional competence in practice 

– Brokers must follow proper business procedures when working. 

– Brokers must ensure professionalism and expertise. When conducting transactions, they must be extremely careful and work with honesty, dedication, and responsibility to customers. 

– Brokers must update changes in market conditions and legal regulations related to the business.

Modest and inquisitive 

Nowadays, some real estate agents who love their job and are really eager to learn realize the value of success in this profession, which is not easy. They always try to perfect their professional skills and constantly learn to develop.

However, not everyone is aware of that. Most people think that there is nothing to learn about real estate brokerage, many people do not need a practice certificate to do it! They believe that just “street” experience, learning from friends is enough. 

It is because of these misconceptions that our real estate brokerage profession is still quite far behind those working in other countries in the region. And in the eyes of customers, they are still called real estate “brokers”.

To become a professional broker, you must be truly humble and inquisitive, learn, and invest time to continuously update your knowledge.

Communication and customer service skills

Must put the rights and interests of the clients you represent first throughout the consulting and service provision process. 

– When communicating and behaving with customers, you must be polite and courteous, listen to opinions, advise, and explain clearly and specifically about services and customer questions. 

– Do not be arrogant, harass, or cause difficulties or inconvenience when working with customers. 

– Information provided to customers must be fair to all customers. No prejudice or bias in all actions.

What makes a real estate broker successful? 

Perseverance 

A day at work with 100 sales calls, of which 98 are rejected, even 3 consecutive months without a single transaction, this is a prospect that any real estate broker must go through, is a factor that kindles discouragement and loss of confidence. 

However, instead of giving up and quitting their jobs, successful brokers will accept difficulties and challenges, bravely face the truth to find out the wrong steps in their way of doing things, and from there come up with ways to overcome and improve their weaknesses.

Behave with the company you work for 

– In marketing and advertising activities, brokers must not affect the image and reputation of the business they participate in. On the contrary, they must be responsible for building, protecting and developing the image and brand of the business. 

– Do not provide information of the Company you are working for to other partners or use it for personal purposes other than for the benefit of the Company. In case of transferring to work at another company, absolutely do not use information of the old company to benefit the new company. 

– Do not provide incorrect information about the jobs or services that the individual or business you are participating in can do. 

– Do not speak ill of or give false information about the business you are participating in.

Create prestige and personal brand 

In the business sector in general or real estate in particular, reputation and customer trust are the only ways to develop and maintain a position in the market. Similarly, a successful broker needs to know how to build his own reputation and brand. Each broker's personal brand can be based on building connections with customers, work responsibility and service attitude, enthusiasm, etc., which are nurtured and formed after a period of practice. 

Therefore, brokers need to be aware of their strengths and maintain consistency in each client meeting.
