What are the challenges of becoming a real estate agent?

The real estate brokerage industry is an industry with a very high entry and exit rate, every year there will be thousands of new brokers entering the profession, but there are also an equivalent number that will quit, because of the difficulty and harshness of the real estate brokerage industry. Perhaps for that reason, the difficulties in the profession are increasing, in this article AHS will help you list those difficulties. 

It is difficult to find a leader with both heart and vision. 

The first difficulty of the real estate brokerage profession is that it is difficult to find a mentor. One experience that I have learned is that to start a real estate brokerage profession, having a teacher, a boss, a friend to guide us is a lucky thing for you. Having a teacher, a friend, a boss with a heart and vision will determine our career orientation. 

A person who has a heart and a vision and understands the real estate industry will help you have an overall picture of the brokerage profession, help you orient your segment, your path and inspire your enthusiasm. So first you have to try to find such a person to lead you. When starting a real estate brokerage job at a new company, in a new environment, I advise you to find someone who is good at the profession and willing to share, be friendly... stick with them to learn and be taught.

Finding customers is extremely difficult. 

It can be affirmed that real estate brokerage is the profession that contacts customers the most and requires relationships to develop potential customers. Because of this requirement, many people when entering the brokerage profession, just starting to learn real estate investment often have difficulty in finding customers. Especially for young people, who have not been exposed to society much, being a real estate broker is really a big difficulty. 

You need to determine that you have to start from zero and try every way to find potential customers for yourself. In case you need to use finance to invest in advertising, promoting real estate projects, the difficulty of the real estate brokerage profession increases many times. And to overcome this difficulty, it requires real estate brokers to be really persistent and hard-working. 

Use many different forms to find your own potential customers, for example: telesales based on available data sources, distributing leaflets, participating directly in projects, standing on standees to find customers...

High work pressure

When deciding to enter the real estate brokerage field, you must understand that this is a job with a lot of pressure, many young people have to give up because they cannot stand the pressure. 

The nature of real estate brokerage work is continuous, so every day you have to accept making over 100 phone calls and you will almost never have holidays or weekends off. 

You must know how to make the most of your customers' free time at any time and always be available immediately when customers need to be able to advise and answer questions for customers. 

Besides, the difficulty of the real estate brokerage profession that makes many people afraid is having to regularly take customers to consult about the project, see the house, go to deposit... Especially, there are projects far from home, the customers are foreigners, the real estate broker also needs to take customers to see the reality and "hardly" consult...

Lack of knowledge and skills 

Lack of knowledge and skills is also a difficulty of real estate brokerage. Real estate knowledge is quite vast, cannot be summarized in 1 or 2 pages. 

To be able to advise and support customers best, you must master them such as knowledge about real estate projects, the segment that the investor is implementing, knowledge about Land Law, knowledge about the real estate market... Not only knowledge but you also need to improve your professional skills. Skills here are related to communication, behavior with customers, customer approach skills, consulting skills, phone skills...

Not understanding the customer and the project being sold 

If the real estate broker does not understand the customer's psychology, does not know what they want, what they need, or what difficulties they need advice on, and the customer feels that they cannot find a satisfactory solution from the broker, then they will definitely have to find another broker. 

Not understanding the project here means that the broker does not understand what segment the project is selling in, where it is located, what outstanding advantages it has, what amenities it has... This lack of knowledge causes the broker to lose customers due to the difficulty in consulting, lack of information provided to customers and inability to answer questions raised by customers.

Financial difficulties 

Another difficulty of the real estate brokerage profession is financial difficulty. To be able to sell products, there is no other way but to increase investment in advertising so that customers know about the project, and at the same time build your own reputation. 

In addition, you also need a lot of money to invest in clothes, receptions, etc. every time you need to meet customers outside. For those new to real estate, the average time is 3-5 months before you have your first transaction. Therefore, you need to prepare yourself enough money to live during that time.
